A fine pear

Onken Wholegrain Pear Yoghurt

Found this in the rather good corner shop that’s not on the corner accross the street from my house a couple of weekends ago. It would appear to be the first new flavour of theirs since the rather wonderul Rhubarb and Vanilla. What makes the yoghurt work so well is that there is a distinctive Pear taste and some rather nice little chunks as well. Also, given that finding a ripe pear is a trial (see a million comedy routines for reference) having one in convenient half kilogram tub form is a real bonus.

Of course, I went back to get a second one and I couldn’t see any. I would go to the Tesco the size of Falkirk that squats on the other side of tube line from my house but they stock a mere three flavours of Onken, scum.

So, the new Onken pecking order:

  1. Strawberry 1kg tub with handle
  2. Wholegrain Pear
  3. Rhubarb and Vanilla
  4. Lemon
  5. Raspberry
  6. Wholegrain Strawberry
  7. Mango, Papaya and Passion Fruit

I’ve got a bit too bored of Peach.
